Configuration: Network

Explaining networking details is beyond the scope of this document. If you are a network professional, you know what you’re doing. If not, we suggest enrolling in the Professional Certified Network Administrator (PCNA) course (if you do not have site credentials, contact Partner Support).

Basic Settings

TCP/IP

We recommend enabling DHCP at the top. Click Apply to save changes.

Port

Here you configure the port settings for HTTP, HTTPS, etc. Click Apply to save any changes.

HTTPS

HTTPS browsing is enabled by default. Create and edit a self-signed certificate here.

DDNS

If you are not using OvrC or Control4, here you can configure a DDNS name for remote access to the system.

PPPoE

Set the user name and password for Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet communication.

FTP

Here you configure the settings for the FTP server that your system uses as a backup.

UPnP

Enable, disable, and customize Universal Plug-and-Play.

IP Filter

Here you set IP addresses to block or to admit. for security and access.

VirtualHost

This sets the port numbers for cameras plugged into PoE ports of the NVR. Here you set the port number for channel 1; all other channel numbers increment from that value.

SNMP

Enable simple network management protocol for tracking and performance enhancement.

SDDP

This provides data for Control4's search protocol. The use of SDDP and Control4 are beyond the scope of this document.

OvrC

Keep this enabled if you want to access the NVR's web UI via OvrC.

Note: Direct OvrC control and OvrC web connect are not available at this time

P2P

This displays our P2P server information, which is used to allow your mobile device to connect via the Clare app.

Email

Here you configure the emails that the camera sends with alerts.

  1. In the left column, set the login credentials,

  2. Next, fill in the Server Address and SMTP Port, and select the security mode as required by your email provider.

  3. Enable Attached Image can cause the NVR to add a snapshot (or several) of the event to the email.

  4. In the right column, customize the mail information.

    1. Sender's Address is who the email appears to be from. If someone replies to this message, it’ll go here.

  5. Next, enter three email addresses to receive the notice.

  6. Click Mail Test to verify all settings (the NVR asks you to enter the password to your email server), and Apply when it works.
